Mbuzi Mawe vs. Migration Camp

Hi! We will be staying at Mbuzi Mawe for 2 nights on November 27 and 28. I read another thread that said that in late November, the migration should be in Northern Serengeti. Is it wise to stay at Migration Camp the 3rd night or should we stay at Mbuzi Mawe the 3rd night, and do a one-day game drive up north?

Is the whole Migration Camp experience worth the risk that the migration may not be there? My travel agent says Migration Camp is only $60 more than Mbuzi Mawe.

Thanks!

There herds can be anywhere between the Northeast to Central Serengeti... never any guarantees. If you're up north (near Migration Camp) and the herds are further south, then you drive south for a day. If you're at Mbuzi and the herds are still north, then you drive in that direction for a day.

We just returned from Tanzania hoping the herds would be near the Western Serengeti - they weren't. They were still in the Central area, so we drove south one day.

With no guarantee as to game or weather (November is the "short" rains period) it's a toss up as to where to stay. You have to make your own decision on this.
