Mapping Software or Website
This has nothing to do with Africa - this time. But you guys have been amazing with coming up with solutions, so I thought I would ask.
Just returned from an absolutely incredible 20-day expedition voyage that took us from Ushuaia, Argentina to the Falklands, South Georgia, and the Antarctic Peninsula. I have all of our latitude and longitude information and would like to chart our trip on a map. Any thoughts on software to use or a website that offers this capability would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. P.S. Since you're all wildlife enthusiasts, I will post a link to photos once I weed out the ones I want to post on the web. |
This will generate an interactive google map that you can embed on a website. (you'll also need a google map key which you can sign up for here

Thank you. I'll check it out tonight at home.

Don't know if this is what you're looking for, but GPS Visualizer lets you convert your GPS data into Google Earth files, amongst other things http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/examples/
What ship were you on? If you post your photos on another forum, could you post a reminder here? I don't check the other forums much, thanks. Looking forward to seeing them. |
Patty, thanks for the website. I'll check this out as well.
We were on the Professor Molchanov, traveling with Quark - 47 passengers, mostly great weather, bergs and wildlife galore, undescribable scenery, 25+ landings/zodiac cruises. It was simply mind boggling. I'll definitely post a link to the photos when they are up, but it will be a while. |
