Malawi or Tanzania ? 3-4 wks solo traveler itinerary
Hi y’all
Im planning an impromptu trip to Africa. Probably end of May.
deciding between Malawi or Tanzania. Both sound beautiful. Tanzania sounds expensive due to safaris. Not sure I can afford many solo? Any input ? What are highlights for Malawi?
How much do I need to book in advance? I’m used to SEA and SA in which I book a long the way or a week ahead.
thanks in advance

I just got back from Malawi on Saturday. I hired a private driver ($180 r/t) to meet me in Blantyre and drive me to Cape Maclear on Lake Malawi. The drive is about four hours cause of the road condition.
I spent two days in Blantyre and stayed at Leslie Lodge and three nights at Mgoza Lodge in Cape Maclear. Having a driver gave me the freedom to go to Monkey Bay and other places.
Malawi was not very expensive. I flew there on Malawian Airlines from JNB.
