Madagascar Driver/Lodging Question - Palmarium and Vakona
 

Hello -

I've read many posts on this site and still am a bit confused on how the driver works. I only have a few days in Madagascar (yes only a few but rather that than nothing at all). I am looking to go to the Palmarium Lodge and/or the Vakona Forest Lodge. I am a single woman traveler and definitely want to be accompanied by drivers of course.

Do I need to hire a driver to get me from Tana to either lodge and that same driver stays with me to drive me to the next lodge and then back to Tana? I'm confused what the driver does. And do I need a guide at these lodges or is that included (I can't tell from their websites)? Does the cost of the driver/guide include their lodging at the same lodge that I am staying at?

Sorry, I'm just not clear on how this works.
