Madagascar ... anyone?
We're thinking of travelling to Madagascar sometime in 2006 for our 30th wedding anniversary.
The tour we have in mind goes from Tana towards the southeast and the south, followed by a few days at the beach.
My questions are:
1) what is the best time to visit (in terms of the lowest humidity and heat).
2) what would be a nice place to stay after our tour, taken into consideration that we both like nice beaches and my husband is an avid scuba diver. Nosy Be? Morondava? Ile Ste. Marie?
We are very grateful for any information we might get.

Here are a few links from the past.
What a wonderful way to celebrate #30. Please post information on what you find and how your trip went.

Mym, as usual much of our wishlists coincide... Madagascar has long been on my wishlist and I was thinking of including it on the 2 month trip last year but it was too much to add it in.
I'll be eagerly watching your planning and learning along with you!

I am visiting Madagascar this May, and I did my research on the Cortez Travel website and the Bradt Guide. The answers to both of your questions are on the Cortez site. I also booked my trip with Cortez, and they've been excellent, and I am going independently, not on a tour, but they have lots of tours on their site.
I'm also using Delta SkyMiles for the Air France business class flight from JFK to Madagascar (which otherwise would have cost $10,700). If you have miles, its best to secure your flight early.

Thanks for the links. I'll certainly check out the Cortez Travel website for more information.
FYI we're located in Belgium and flying Paris-Antananarivo.
