Mack Air - Botswana ???

We will be flying Mack Air Charters to camps in Botswana in January. I am very nervous about flying in such a small plane - I think they are 3 or 5 seaters. Does anyone have any experience with this company?

Also, I am worried about motion sickness - are these small planes very bumpy?

There is another post just a ways from yours entitled "Flying experiences while on safari". Some good info there in case you missed it. Good luck. Liz

Mel, regarding safety: the small ones are safe! I had the same concerns you voice, and in October was on several small planes in Botswana. No problems at all, and it was quite nice seeing animals from 1800 feet or so.

Yes, it can indeed be bumpy. Nothing horrible, but definite. Here's what I did: a 50 mg. dramamine 30 minutes before flying. And take along a bottle of water. Sit up front or near the front, and stay engaged with people on board - look at and discuss the animals.

You may surprise yourself, as we did, and really enjoy the small planes. Have a good trip!
