Has anyone used Maasai Wanderings for a Tanzanian safari?

I have not traveled with them directly, but one of the directors (Donna) is a good friend of mine. She is REALLY impressive, her passion and attention to detail has created a lot of positive feedback (at least from what I've read of her reviews).

What she does with her profits is also impressive; she is involved in so many organizations and community projects sometimes I think she might drown under them all!

Donna has been incredibly responsive and has proposed some very appealing itineraries for us....very different from the other Northern Tanzanian safaris I've researched, which all seem to sound the same. But I'd love to hear from someone who has actually been on a MW safari, and particularly would appreciation feedback about Nasikia, their Serengeti luxury camp.

Check out the rest of their site for other offerings. As Mawengekubwa suggested, Donna has been a pleasure to deal with. We are thinking of a hybrid custom trip with some trekking and cultural experiences, but also at least one luxury camp. Would love to hear your opinion, atravelynn. Started researching Tanzania last year, but we ended up going to the Galapagos because we couldn't get a decent flight (price OR schedule). I'm worried that the same thing will happen this summer...

Don't know of Maasi Wanderings, but my husband and I traveled the Northern Circuit with Warrior Trails Ltd. an Arusha based company. Clamian Kitesha the owner and Jackson, our driver/guide were both outstanding representatives of the Tanzanian culture and we enjoyed our safari experience with them. They will design a safari for you which can include warrior walks, community projects, visits to Maasi villages, and wonderful wildlife viewing. You can contact them at [email protected]. Thanks, Sandra. I found their website...Looks wonderful, very similar to Maasai Wanderings. What time of year did you go? Where did you stay? Would you change anything about your itinerary?
