Luxury camp near Eastern Coast?

Looking for a Luxury Camp with fairly EZ access from Cape Town and Richards Bay. Eagles Cragg in Shamwari appears to be very nice. Any opinions or other suggestions for 2 nights in February? Thank you.

Hello,

I'd recommend Phinda, which is quite close to Richard's Bay -- a stay there will provide a much better safari experience than Shamwari, which is pretty tame by comparison.

Another option in the Eastern Cape would be Kwandwe

If you are going to consider Phinda, you should also take a look at Amakhosi Lodge also in KwaZulu Natal. I think it is absolutely superb.

One other thing to consider, in February you would be more likely to have some rain at Phinda or Amakhosi than you would at Shamwari.

Are you driving or flying from Cape Town to Richards Bay?

We will be flying from Cape Town to whatever camp we decide on for 2 nights and then flying back to Richards Bay to hook up with a cruise ship. Thank you.
