Lusaka to Livingstone

Have any of you gone to Livingstone from Lusaka by car? I would really love to go there. How far is it? Where is a nice place to stay for two nights? Thanks! I can't belive our trip is coming up very soon.

Hello,

Unless you have a lot of time to spare, I'd advise flying -- I believe it's less than $200.

There are plenty of places to stay in Livingstone -- depends on your budget, whether you will have a car, and whether your focus is the falls or just relaxing.

Cheers,
Julian

I drove that stretch a year or two ago, it's a fun trip, most of the road was recently resurfaced and if my memory serves me well the journey was around six hours.

Some interesting villages along the way and quite a few side roads down to the upper reaches of lake kariba made for some worthwhile detours. The side roads can be tricky though.

Plenty ggood hotels, hostels and lodges in Livingstone.

If you are comfortable driving I would encourage it, you see the country and meet the people.
