Lusaka Overnight

After 17 nights on safari in Botswana and Zambia we have to overnight in Lusaka before taking a 8:30am flight to London. Our agent booked us into Chaminuka as he thought it would be a nice way to end our trip. It is however rather expensive charging per person. As we will only be there a short time I don't know if it is worth the money. If we stay in a hotel like the Intercontinental is getting to and from the airport a problem?
Also, after having just returned from the Caribbean and having our luggage lost for two days I am rather reluctant to check our bags. We will have one soft-sided bag each and a smaller bag with camera equipment. We are on BA to Johannesburg, Air Botswana to Maun and Airwaves to Mfuwe. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Stay at the I/C Lusaka and it will set you back about $150 USD total, plus $25 to the hotel from the airport for a taxi and maybe a $1 tip to the driver of the free I/C Hotel shuttle that will take you back to the airport.

You can eat a great steak dinner at Marlins Restaurant near the I/C Hotel for about $40 USD, including a nice bottle of South African wine.

I'd stay at the i/c or taj pamodzi. since you have an early morning flight, you might as well stay in lusaka
