luggage question

How many suitcases do you take? What about carry on bags. How many do you take and what do you carry with you during the trip?

We are mostly going to be in Lusaka. We might go on a short safari or to Victoria Falls. Our trip is 10 days.

If you're only going to be in Lusaka, I would say "whatever the airline allows" for an International flight for checked bags, though carry-on can be limited by a number of carriers.

However, if you're heading out for safari by road or air, you're best keeping your weight down to about 10Kb (22-lbs) in soft-sides duffle bags. You really don't need much clothing and most all lodges/camps provide laundry service in the rate or for a small fee.

Most everyone who posts here have found that we manage to keep within the weight limits of from between 10Kg to 15Kg for internal flights. Few, if any, are traveling with suitcases, and certainly none with wheels. Except for removing your duffle from the carousel and placing on a cart on arrival and before departure, you'll never have to carry anything.
