Looking for family-friendly Knysna B&B
We are looking for recommendations of guest houses, B&B's or self-catering units for 2 nights in Knysna or close to Knysna, Feb 20/21, 2009. We are a young family (2 adults, 1 baby, 1 four-year old) who are experienced overseas travelers and very considerate with our children. Would like a homey, affordable (under 1000 Rand or $100 U.S. Dollars) per night. Someplace where the kids can stretch their legs with a pool or grass a plus.

We have stayed at Under Milkwood in Knysna and it is a great place. The self-catering cabins are lovely, with views over the lagoon and a private beach for the kids to play on. (www.milkwood.co.za - make certain you are looking at Under Milkwood and not Milkwood Bay) Robin

I second the Under Milkwood suggestion, also has eating places with lagoon views in walking distance if you don't want to delf-cater.

Just returned from Knysna. We didn't particularly like it, although it is in the middle of the Garden Route. Stayed at Knysna River Lodge - very clean, comfortable etc etc (right on the lagoon), but a bit characterless. Checked out 1 day early and moved to Wilderness. Stayed at Cloverleigh Guest House - really lovely. If I were to stay at Knysna again I would go to the ocean side and stay at the town of Brenton-on-Sea.
