Suit and tie on a Nile cruise?
Looking for Sandi....... She must know the answer to this.
What is the black and white party and does every Nile cruise require a suit and tie? My husband won't go for this.

My family and I were on the Abercrombie & Kent Sunboat 4 and we wore casual(but not jeans and t-shirt) for dinner. There were a few people who wore dinner jacket and ties but most were dressed similar to us(business casual?).
Enjoy your crusie!

My family and I were on the Abercrombie & Kent Sunboat 4 and we did dress up a bit for dinner but not to the extend of the suit and tie type. Sort of like business casual, shirt and jacket for me and a simple dress for my wife and daughter. Other guests wore the same thing with exception for a group from England who were more formal and wore dinner jacket and tie every night. Didn't see anyone in jeans or t-shirts for dinner either.
Enjoy your trip!

Sandi here - I don't recall a Black & White Party, but do a Galabeya Party. With this party, guests and crew dress in Egyptian-type dress - long galabeyas, wigs, jewelry, beils, others items - these can be rented from your boat at small fee. Though a number of guests buy their own galabeyas on one of the shore stops.
Not familiar with Black and White party, but I can say I never saw a man in a suit & tie... some men did wear a sport jacket at dinner... but no ties were ever seen. All dress was nice casual for both men and women.
Remember, evenings are chilly, so a coverup is suggested if going out in the evening or up on deck to watch the scenery as the boat cruises and the stars.
If a specific B&W party was mentioned - I'd ask for clarification from your tour operator.
