Lodges in Livingstone, Zambia?

Hi. I'm in the final stages of confirming a trip to South Africa and Zambia (to see Victoria Falls). I was looking at 2 lodges that seem nice but are medium priced- Thorntree Lodge and Stanley Safari Lodge. However, I am becomming increasingly concerned because it doesnt seem that anyone stays at either!

Please let me know if you have stayed at these lodges and what you thought of them. Alternatively, please suggest some other accomodations- I am trying to stay under $200 per person per night.

I currently have been quoted package rates including airfare from Johannesburg and 2 nights for $750-900 per person.

Can't comment on the specific hotels, but the airfare alone can run $350-$400 r/t. The balance would be your transfers to/from airport to hotel, the hotel which I presume includes your breakfast. And if you've booked the Falls Tour and any other, should be included here. So the prices are in range for 2-nts.

Thank you for your response- I am most interested in hearing about the lodges rather than the price since there is no information on this site about them.

This answer is not helpful for your question, but, out of curiosity, you might want to read the article in today's NY Times travel section (that is Sunday, October 24) about the fancy Sun hotel at Vic Falls on the Zambia side. ZZ
