Lemala Camps?
Does anyone have any experience with the Lemala Camps in Tanzania (Ngorongoro & Serengeti)?
I know the website looks cool, but I've learned you can never judge a camp by their website!! |
Both camps are just now opening. No feedback yet. They are on the high-end pricewise.

Thanks Sandi,
I thought they had been there for awhile already... |
Huh?
The camps have been operational since late December with great reviews. I stayed at both and completely agree. The food, ambience, comforts, locations and staff were excellent during my stays. My work allows me to experience the very best of the safari lodges and camps in East Africa and Lemala camps are up there with the very best. My pics are here: http://www.go-safari.com/Serengeti/LemalaSerengeti.htm http://www.go-safari.com/NCA/LemalaNCA.htm |
Stayed there in March and everything was really nice. The tents were comfortable and the staff very accomodating. The food was excellent.
My daughter and I had no complaints whatsoever. I would stay there again in a minute. Betty |
That's great Betty.
Thanks! Would you be able to compare it with other camps you stayed at? Better or worse? I am just a little concerned as they are not "permanent" tented camps, and wondering if they might be a little too rustic! |
Funny - when i saw the title, i assumed the OP's post was a wrong spelling RE the name of the camp.
Anyways, Good to know that there is a great new option for migration time! |

i don't know the camp but know semi-permanent camps and permanent camps. there is literally no difference when it comes to comfort - not necessarely wise! they have decent showers (bucket showers mostly) which doesn't create a problem or make you feel you are missing a "decent" shower - in case you have to use conditioner: they bring you a second bucket if requested. they even have flush loos, decent duvets and pillows, furniture etc. of course there is no guarantee for it and there might be camps around which don't offer these commodities. but that's also the case with permanent camps. i would not judge it by the term "semi-permanent". website is promising and also the locations! and the specials are good value! |
Thanks!
Any other information or photos on the Lemala camps is always appreciated! |
