Latest Lower Zambezi NP Update

I just received an email from Sausage Tree Camp (LZNP). I will be flying out there in 4 days time. Here is their quote regarding the latest weather and wildlife sightings.

"The weather is fabulous – although it is getting cold in the mornings, it warms up quite nicely during the day, from 18:00 its gets dark and as soon as the sun goes behind the mountain it gets cold. I would suggest bring a couple of long pants with jumpers – but also bring some summer clothes as the days are fairly warm.
Also a good note is we have got a swimming pool so bring the cozies.

Our wild life has been very good – a couple of recent sightings of leopard, 11 lions with cubs, lots of hippo’s and our resident buffalos always wallow through the camp.
Elephants have been seen although they are moving around a lot.
Porcupines seems to be a regular sighting as well as our night cats such as Gennets, Civets, as well as jackals & hyena.
How are you on fishing – one of our guests have caught a 12pounder Tiger fish the other day."

:) I will have to stay alert when walking through the camp, in case I bump into the "resident" buffalo during their wallowing!!

Thanks guys......hopefully I'll be lucky and see some dogs and honey badgers. It will be my first ever camp with "resident" buffalo. In Kenya/Tanzania, they do everything possible to keep bufallo away from camps!! Maybe the Zambian bufallo are a bit more relaxed ;)
