Kings Pool in Botswana

Has anyone been to Kings Pool Camp? I'm trying to reserve Jao and Mombo but no luck. My agent is suggesting Kings Pool. She says it is every bit as good as Singita and Mombo. Any comments?

kings pool is nice, but its no comparison to mombo in terms of diverse wildlife. mombo is unique. u could stay at duma tau or savuti camp and see at least as good wildlife as kings pool. kings pool is more luxurious but if i were you i'd stay at one of the other 2 and spend your money on an extra night elsewhere.

ritzyt,

It's difficult to make comparisons as each place is unique and wonderful in its own right.

I spent time at both K Pool and Mombo last July and thoroughly enjoyed my stay at both camps very much. Each place had good wildlife viewing from our experience altho I would agree that we did see a little more variety at Mombo and the setting is quite spectacular, but then if you would like to do any night drives, a lot of camps do not offer this and K Pool does. You can also do a walk in the bush at KP which cannot be done at some other camps. It's great to get a chance to walk around in the bush as it gives you a different perspective. Find out if some of the other camps mentioned offer walks or night drives, if this interests you.

At KP we woke up to the most prolific sounds of birds that I have ever experienced and yes the accomm. are very upscale and comfortable.
