KIND OF BINOCS? 8x20 BC Leica?

We are thinking of buying Leica 8x20 BC binoculars (about $300) - what do you think?

Depends what you want to do with them. I recently purchased a pair of Swift Ultralights. Excellent for birding. They are a little bigger than the small light models, but are still quite light and are one of the few choices with rubber eye pieces making them reasonable to use while wearing glasses

We want them for a safari in Botswana. Do you think a 10x25 would be better? Thank you for your message.

Personally, I would go with 8x20. You sacrifice a little strength for lighter and I think you'll find the 8x20 more versatile for all kinds of things when you get home. I used 8x20 on a safari in Kenya and was quite satisfied. Also, if you are like me you'll have your telephoto camera lens up to your face most of the time anyhow
