Kenya visa--multiple entry or single entry

So, we arrive in Kenya on Aug 7 then leave Aug. 14 to go to Zanzibar and then arrive again in Nairobi Aug. 20 only to depart for home on Aug. 21.

Question: will the single entry Visa we buy for $50 (x5 of us)allow us to come back from Zanzibar to Nairobi because it is valid for 30 days or does "single entry" truly mean single entry only!? If not, do we have to buy the multiple entry one when we arrive on Aug. 7 for $100? Or do we buy single entry for $50 on Aug. 7 and then a $20 transit visa on Aug 20 which is valid for 7 days????????

Also, do you really need to provide 2 passport photos for a Visa???

The single entry will allow you to come back from Tanzania as long as it's within the visa validity period. You don't need photos when obtaining visas on arrival.

Ask them for a visitors pass when you arrive in Kenya, in addition to the visa. The visa period should cover both visits. I'm headed to Nairobi tomorrow and will do this, as instructed by the Kenya consulate in LA.

There's no need for a visitors pass. A single entry Visa for Kenya will cover your return to Kenya from Zanzibar and day in NBO before heading home.

I just returned from Kenya/Tanzania. Obtained single entry visa on arrival NBO for overnight; left next day for Tanzania for 4/days, before returning to Kenya.

No need to get or ask for more than you need.

Below is a link for an online visa form. If you pre-complete it, then you don't have to start filling in paper forms on arrival, and you can instead proceed staright to the visa counter.

Not a single/multiple question, but does stay in line with the visa question. I have already printed out my visa apps and notice on the Kenya visa app that it asks for names/addresses etc of the places you are staying? Can you just put the name of your TA/planner (which in my case is also ground operator in Kenya)or do I need to get all the nitty gritty info for each camp/lodge?

Thanks

Shane

I've only ever listed my Nairobi hotel. No one's ever questioned it.

It's sufficient to list the name of your in-country outfitter. This holds for both Kenya and Tanzania.
