The newest article updates on the hunting issue on the AllAfrica.com website are getting quite interesting. I won't post the links since most of you know how to access them.

Definitely sounds like dirty politics to me. It's turning into quite the fiasco but it's still not over!

hello, another message from my kenya guide.
thanks.

Hi David hope you are well with your duties i am also doing fine with alittle bit of fever but its not that serious you remember when we were talking through phone then my voice was sounding funny it was the beginning of it.
Well well man inspite of this i have been trying to follow closely to what is happening to our heritage wildlife and i have discovered that our minister concerned and his assistand are contradicting one another on the issue hence they are contributing with all this shit but i am happy that kenyan are not supporting it,

hello, I had talked to my kenya tour op sat. One of the things we talked on a little was this topic. She had told me. This talk has been going on ever since the ban was put in place. It would take yrs for anything to get passed. The way she looks at it is, and would like other people too also. Is: For the people that are pushing for this. There are just as many or even more people pushing back!
thanks, david

Hi, I am hoping this is going in a good way. But there are also other things there that need some tending to. Divewop, you know what I speak of.
Thanks, David

This issue of Time has an article about saving the big cats (around the world). You'll know it by the cover.

Tuskerdave, Divewop and others:

Not to worry yet!!! I just returned last night from Nairobi. I too had been terribly worried about the privitization of KWS.

However, the Daily Nation on Thursday stated "KWS Board Chairman axed over sale plot". "KWS board suspended Chairman Colin Church over his involve-
ment in a controversial bid to privitize the parastatal'e moneymaking activities. The board also recommended
to reprimand Director Evans Mulkolwe for his failure to consult on a proposal to privitize the body in charge of all of Kenya's wildlife".

Thus we need to keep eyes and ears open in the future, but for now I think things are headed back in the right direction.

Hi Jan, glad your back!Did you recieve a message from me from someone while you were there? My guide James is also sending me info on KWS ect.He sent mail over night. But some of the words he is using. Not a good idea to post here.
It seems that some KWS people are in a bit of trouble.
I leave in 18 days!!!!! Mail me when you can.

Hi Jan-
Welcome home! I hope you had a wonderful time and am looking forward to reading about your trip. Hope your eles are doing OK.

TuskerDave has been keeping me in the loop w/ some of his correspondence w/ his folks in Kenya on the eles, along w/ other wildife and what they have been facing.

We've been thinking about you while you were over there and wondered if you were aware of what was going on w/ the KWS. Sounds like you brought us some encouraging news. Thanks.

We'll continue to monitor this one closely!
