Your photos prove it was the Cheetah Express! The drinking one was exceptional, and the family!

You really got the gerenuk reaching for the top leaves.

Some sizzling giraffe pics.

That croc feeding frenzy in the Mara was unreal. They were right side up and upside down going after that raw meat.

Outstanding photos!

Hi Mike,

I'd have to ditto Lynn's comments. Some truly exceptional pics and as I mentioned to you before, you make the case for Samburu. I must get there soon!!!

Cheers

Great photos. I looked at the Mara River photos and thought those would be my favorites. But, the Marsh pride photos, particulary the cubs playful antics, beat out the Mara feeding frenzy. Then I saw the other Mara shots, Samburu and Lewa, and well, I decided you had just an all around amazing trip and photos to prove it.

Really enjoyed the photos … great study of a kudu and every time I see an acacia with the blue sky and straw coloured grass of the Mara it brings back such wonderful memories and longings. Especially enjoyed your photos of the Lewa cheetahs, the lighting was lovely.

Many thanks to all of you for your comments.

I had only seen the Lewa pictures. Now I’ve seen the amazing Samburu cheetahs, giraffes, gerenuks and the nasty nest plunderer. The two topi pictures are outstanding, but there should have been more of them. The croc feast is almost too detailed. And the Marsh cubs are just too cute. Thanks, Walrus!

Wow. Great pix, particularly the Samburu shots. I'm getting ready to post a trip report and some of my Mara and Samburu photos, including my one decent Red-and-yellow Barbet shot. I give great credit to anyone that can get a Barbet to hold still and let you get close enough to take a decent picture of one. Its especially frustrating for an amateur like myself with limited equipment.

Thank you Jim for your comments. I also think that the Samburu shots are better than the others. I also like the Lewa cheetah, coming out of the grass with tail up and looking straight at the camera.

Thank you Steff, I am glad that you like my photos.
I understood that you are European, from what country are you from? If you do not want to answer on the forum, do it through my website.

Jim and Steff, I look forward to read your reports and see your pictures.

Hi Walrus,
So far I've only seen the river shots - great action and closeups. I never seem to be able to get decent hippo shots. You can clearly see the eyes and even the whiskers of your - impressive.
What lens did you use?

walrus Sep 15th, 2008 01:24 PM

Hello Cybor,

It's a 500 mmm + extender x1,4

Cheers

Mike
