Ken ya give me some advice?
Sorry about that. I hope Fodors doesn't have a no-bad-pun rule!
My wife and I will be in Kenya with friends for 3 weeks in Aug.'08. Our plans are to go on a safari, visit Nairobi and possibly climb Kilimanjaro. We then have another week by ourselves (just the two of us.) Any suggestions for a nice relaxing week on the Kenyan coast? Good snorkeling and scuba-diving would be a bonus. Thanks in advance. |
We really enjoyed Kizingo on Lamu Isla nd. Very nice eco-resort. The bandas are perfect. Nice but not too nice. The hosts are wonderful. Mary Jo is a very funny. Food and service great. Louie knows where to take you to swim with the dolphins. I highly recommend.

Depending on your budget have you considered Chumbe Island, close to Zanzibar? (I don't know if it will be a little off your intended plan but worth seeking out.)
www.chumbeisland.com I had the pleasure of interviewing director Sibylle E. Riedmiller for Safaritalk (via email I hasten to add) and she gives a full background into the Island and the project here: http://safaritalk.net/index.php?showtopic=1363 Matt |
Thanks very much to Stakerk and Matt from England for the replies. Both places seem very appealing. I'm still undecided, but we do have a few months to choose. Thanks again for your help.

I can help you with scuba diving suggestions (and some places to avoid!) If you want to email me it's simon @ simonrushton dot com
Obviously removing the spaces and putting a dot. Depending on your certification level there are some amazing dive sites. Or if your learning it's a great place to do it... and by August 08 I may be an instructor! |
