Kariega Game Reserve??

Does anyone know anything re Kariega Game Reserve? Price looks decent. Could not do a search on here because that was not functioning.

Also looking at Schotia Park, Tooth and Claw Safari for 2 nights, which includes Addo and Shamwari, for $400 per person, 1/2 for kids. That's pricey for me but, comparing this and others, any suggestions???

Kareiga is a very nice reserve with accommodation in individual wooden chalets.

We used to visit quite often it is great as you can walk with the animals, we were there whilst a giraffe was born, it became a big 5 reserve a couple of years ago with a sharp increase in price making it too expensive for most South Africans. The lions however have sensibly been kept in a separate part of the reserve so you can still walk with the animals in the section close to the accommodation.

My recommendation for a short stay is to take a day trip through the elephant section of the park and then spend 2 nights at Darlington a new section at the far north of the park. 15 elephants have been translocated from Kruger and juvenile buffalos that were being eaten by the lions too frequently are also there, and one night at Schotia where you will get very close to the lions and sleep in the reserve with them.

We had friends over and took them to Darlington they had previously stayed at Kariega and much prefered Darlington
