Just returned from Feb Egypt Trip: Epic
 

I just traveled to Egypt for 10 days, and have to say that my expectations of this country were by far exceeded. I had these pictures in my head of pharoahs, and hieroglyphics, the Nile, the people, etc. and they were all blown away by things far better than my imagination.
I would definitely recommend traveling here to anyone, and with a group tour from INSIDE Egypt rather than an outside agency which will rip you off even more. Of course our tour guide took cuts at every opportunity available as well, but our trip price was still half that of most of the others I looked at and saw people taking, because we booked our guide through his company, in Cairo.
I could go on for pages about the White Desert, the Oasis, the bedouins, shisha, Luxor, Karnak,............but if anyone wants to know anything in particular i'd be happy to answer,

ps. February was an awesome month for travel: not too hot, not cold, no mosquitoes, etc.

Did you travel with a group of people? My husband and I will be traveling to Egypt in April. What tour group did you use? Did you have an Egyptologist? Did you ride on any camels? I am really looking forward to our trip.

I'd really be interested in knowing which tour company you used. I'm currently gathering quotes for the trip we've put together, and have a spreadsheet going. So far, there is about a $2,000 difference between the highest and lowest quotes for the same itinerary/hotels/cruise! We've already booked our flights for this November adventure.

Would love to hear more about your desert/oasis trip. Which oasis did you visit? We are doing a similar trip as part of a tour in late March, and would be glad to know if there is anything you wish you'd known beforehand or taken with you. Would also love to read a trip report if you have time.
