Hi all. I just gave my contact at african wildlife foundation a call in DC. It appears they didn't know anything about all the spearing thats going on. So she took some info. Will pass it along to the AWF people out there. Later she wants me to send all the info I have on the spearings.
I find it a little odd though. That AWF didn't know about any of this or seeing it coming. Elephants are their thing since they started out. Know what I mean.Just find it kind of strange.
Thanks, David

Jan-
I was thinking you should be home and sure enough, what a wonderful report. Haven't the time now to read it in depth but as I scanned it, I marvelled at all the animals you saw and even a mini-migragion. East Africa really does have so many more animals than Botswana. I am convinced it is the open plains. You know I love Botswana dearly, but it is so closed with brush and their areas to drive in so small compared to either Kenya or Tanzania. The night time is better however in Botswana, out is the bush, sitting around the fire and watching the skies. Aah, I remember it well. What a decision, where to go, East or Southern Africa.
Thanks and I notice a lot of trauma in your report and it just makes me weep. So sad and I only see it getting worse each time you go.
Wonderful report and I will read it more in depth one evening. Thanks. Liz
