Just returned from a fabulous week in Jordan.
We were asked where we were from when we said the US they applauded or gave the thumbs up sign. We felt safer walking the streets of Amman at night than New York where we had stayed prior to our departure. What a wonderful study of history and religions that we experienced in one week. We would be more than delighted to give you more information if you contact us. Do not fear going to Jordan, a country that is very supportive of the US and needs our dollars. One of the best ways of keeping peace in the middle east is to be supportive of these countries.

After recently returning from a fabulous second trip to Syria & Lebanon - travelling independently as a solo female - Brit - I second your sentiments. These are wonderful countries with much to offer and far less street crime than UK cities. My greatest fear in Damascus was in how to get across the street!
