Johannesburgh to Capetown

I'm using frequent flier miles to get to South Africa & can only arrive in Johannesburg. I want to meet friends who will be in Capetown. What is the easiest & cheapest way to get from one city to the other (fastest wouldn't hurt either but that may be asking too much)
Thanks Doug R.

The fastest way is definitely by air. The flight is a little over 2 hrs. You should check out British Airways or South African Airways for their flight schedules. There are lots of flights every day and the cost for a oneway economy flight is about $185.00 US.

Hi DouglasR7
Try their low cost airline-think it starts with a K.

Hi

I have tried driving...it is about 1400 km each way so it takes quite a long time...but it was fun anyway :-) There was not that much to see on the way but it was great to have done it.

I have tried the train...it took about 24 hours when I took it and it was quite boring. And it was soo hot during the day in our cabin and freezing at night.

And that brings me to the last option...flying there is fast and comfortable...so I recommend this :-)

On my homepage www.gardkarlsen.com you'll find some pictures and travelogues from my trips to SA.

Have a great time in South Africa. The country has a lot to offer and Cape Town is such a beautiful city.

Regards
Gard
www.gardkarlsen.com

Thank you all for your responses. The budget airline sounds like my best bet. I'll check out their website & Gard's site as well. I'll report how it all works out. Doug R.
