Joburg in 5 hours--must sees?

We have a 5 hour layover in Joburg in July (arrive at 3 pm, leave at 10:40 pm)--we are going to hire a driver--what should we see?

You land at 3pm, that I guess is the SAA flight out of JFK and it is usually on time. Allow an hour to get through passport control and customs and to find your driver so that makes it with luck 4pm - welcome to rush hour! Coming in from the airport you will be heading against the traffic mostly but it will still slow things down.
Unfortunately - also, given the time of day most things will be closing for the night. And it is also winter so not much fun to be out and about in the evening. My suggestion is to rather ditch the expensive private driver and take a transfer (eg. Magic Bus) to the Sandton Central Precinct. Here you can do a bit of shopping (the stores are open to 7pm during the week) and get a good meal from any number of excellent restaurants before heading back to the airport.
Alternatively, head for some pampering at Caesars close to the airport to de-stress after that long flight.
The time of day and time limit mean that it's just not realistic to see much of Joburg proper.
