JERUSALEM Hotels
We have just booked flights to Israel and Jordan and now looking at hotels.
I am shocked to see the prices of the hotels but do want a nice one. It does not need to be fancy (gym, pool not necessary) and always prefer boutique hotels. I'm looking at Trip Advisor but hoped someone had a little secret that they could share with me??? |
What part of the city? What do you want to see in Jerusalem? How many days? and budget?
|
We'd like in the old city or close to it and will be there 3 days.
Thank you, Frank |
Well,
Earlier you said you were shocked by the prices, so Im guessing you just want a clean hotel near the old city? May I suggest the Ritz Hotel. Its clean, within walking distance to the Old City, good staff and provides a fair breakfast. http://www.jerusalemritz.com/ |
Thanks, I did look it up as you suggested. But, you know how it goes "we want it great but can't afford great".
It looks clean and basic which is good but would enjoy a little more style. The rates were shown as $79.00. We can afford $150. |
Check the Arthur hotel. Its a 'great' hotel and it might be something around $150 on your dates. If not, use the Tripadvisor Map feature and choose a nearby hotel...thats a very good area and you should be able to find something you like in your price range
|
Thank you.
|
For $150 you will get a clean bed, but not much style. What are your dates? This is important, as there is a difference according to seasons and even days.
|
Sept 15, 16, 17. I'm finding that you are correct regarding prices.
|
I was just scanning booking. com and they usually have good prices. Bottom line--they really had almost nothing. For what what listed would stay at the Palitin. Good location, only problem is there is no elevator so you carry your suitcase up stairs.
|
I'll take a look! We travel light so Thanks!
|
Look at www.iyha.org.il . The hostels are open to everyone and have private ensuite rooms. There is one atn Agron corner King George, within walking distance of the Old City.

Eyal Hotel is a new property, in close proximity to Atlas Harmony Hotel and walking distance to Old City. We found them to have the best rate and good tripadvisor.com reviews. I'm not sure if it was under $200 but it was less than Harmony or other Atlas properties.

I'm just looking at places to stay in Jerusalem and am shocked by the prices. I am a solo budget traveller. Maybe better avoid altogether? My old Lonely Planet suggests Ecce Homo Guesthouse. Does anyone know anything about it? Like prices? This will be October. Thanks!

We stayed at the Hotel Agripas during Passover / Holy Week. Nice accomodations and close to old city (10 minute walk / 2 stops on tram). They were super helpful. Would recommend highly.
