jerusalem eating
Any ideas for a fun place near the kotel for a post Bar Mitzvah breakfast for 15-20 people?
Where to eat in Jerusalem on Shavuot and Shabbos without going broke. Needless to say does not need to be kosher, but should have fish and vegetables. |
Shabbat eating in Jerusalem:
McD (on Shamai steet) Spaghettim in Beit Agron Aroma (on Hillel street not on King George) That's all I can think of at the moment. For the post Bar Mitzvah breakfast: The Village Green (vegetarian) or any decent coffee shop like Rimon which has the space. In any case, with that number of people I would talk to them in advance and make arrangements, not just show up. Of course any hotel will also do the trick. Nothing within walking distance of the Kotel that I can recommend, sorry. Enjoy! |
The YMCA on King David St is open on Shabbat and has a varied menu..veggie options shouldn't be difficult.

thanks for the info. Hotels charge about $40/person for breakfast. I was looking more in the $10-15 range. I read about Spaghettim, definatley sounds like a possibility. Can you tell me more about Aroma.

Aroma is a tiny little self-service coffee shop with fresh homebaked goodies, good sandwiches (hot & cold) and drinkable coffee. The ovens are in the back of the coffee shop. There is outdoor seating which everyone just pushes around to suit their needs :)
Very informal and friendly. |
P.S. The prices suit your budget of US$10 - 15.

i second Spaghettim. this place has a really nice atmosphere, excellent food, reasonable prices and is pretty easy to get to. ate there twice (i know it's a sin last time i was there).
