Jeans All the Time

For my middle of October trip to Morocco, should I wear long pants out of respect? No sneakers? Should my female traveling companion also wear pants? Would skirts be acceptable? I've seen YouTube videos with people in shorts. Doesn't make it right, though. Is it necessary for my friend to wear a scarf?

I'm guessing you are male. Yes, wear jeans all of the time. Not so much because you'll offend the Moroccans, (you won't) but because you'll look just a little less like a tourist.

I never wear jeans when I'm traveling. Too heavy and take too long to dry. I prefer khakis.

Wear what you want, nobody in tourist areas is going to bat an eyelid at knee-length shorts. In the summer months Moroccans wear shorts, but October is getting chilly for the locals. In the cooler months I often take long trousers with zip-off bottoms that turn into shorts. Smart casual is the order of the day, so T-shirts are fine, tank tops not so.

Sneakers/trainers/flip flops are perfectly acceptable. I take crocs as they are easy to take off/put on if visiting private houses.

Dresses are fine, preferably with a shawl if the dresses have bare shoulders. Definitely no need for women to wear head scarves, some Moroccan women do, many don't, and you're not Moroccans!
