January in Egypt

Is January a good time to visit Egypt? Planning to take the Trafalgar tour, have anyone travelled with them? I chose them because of their reasonable price.

January is a fine time to travel to Egypt. Weather in Cairo should be mild, though nights can be chilly.

As you travel to Upper Egypt (south) in Luxor, Aswan and Abu Simbel, the closer you get to the Equator, the hotter it gets though temps can drop up to 30 degrees at night, so a shawl or jacket would be required.

There is a possibility of sand storms in Jan-Feb, but nothing that would hinder your trip - just pack a bandana in case you get caught, and plastic bags for camera equipment.

Otherwise, Egypt is a very exciting holiday to take. Enjoy.
