January In Africa
I have been doing alot of reading & see that many tour companies do not have trips in January. More on the South Africa side of tours seem to be out .
Victoria falls looks to be out in January from many of them. Is this the rainy season ?? |
Between Nov - Feb depending in which country, there are often thunderstorms. But these last maybe an hour or two and then all is fine. The air is clean, the dust is settled.
Of course, there's always a possibility of a full day or two of rain, but you can still go out on game drives - preferably in East Africa where you're in pop-top closed vehicles, rather than the open vehicles as in Southern Africa which even though you'll be wearing rain slickers can be uncomfortable. That said, you might not get any rain at all. The weather is so strange all around the world these days. So if this is a major concern, postpone trip for another time when you're likely to have weather that better suits your needs. |
How is East Africa March 14-April 1 ?
We will also go to Victoria Falls. Will someone please answer quickly because we will book the tour soon. Thanks! |
P.S. !!!
I see that I wrote East Africa in the above note. I meant South Africa! |
Mid-Mar - April in southern hemisphere is coming out of Summer, going into Fall, so it's still warm with cool nights.
But SA is a large country and you'll have different weather in different areas. And if Easter falls out during this time frame (I haven't checked the 20004 calendar, yet) it is likely there are school holidays and locals are traveling. But for specifics, I'll leave the answers open to the South Africans on this board. |
Re Guests dates ...
There is a long weekend on 20/21/22 March, but otherwise things are clear until mid-April, and the chances of rain are less than in high summer. |
All times are GMT -8. The time now is 08:24 PM. |
