We might not enjoy travel as much as we do if everything always went according to plan. Some of the best experiences come out of the unexpected and even out of disappointment and distress. However, when I dropped my little pocket camera out of my kayak into a lake full of icebergs in Patagonia with almost all my pictures taken of Torres del Paine (a lesson learned about protecting digital images) there was no redeeming experience... now that was a disappointment.

I enjoyed your description of the climb, it is about as close as I want to get to making all that effort. Haven't looked at the photos yet but am looking forward to them.
