Itinerary help
We are trying to plan a 12 day trip late August with two 8 year olds and will be flying into Casablanca. We are open to 2 or 3 bases during these 12 days and hoping to spend time where it's not too hot (in the low 80's is fine). We would also prefer not to fly and keep driving distances to under 7 hours. Chefchaouen seems nice - which other 1-2 bases would you recommend? Coastal places are doable too and I looked at Essaouira but it's completely in the other direction from Chefchaouen. I found Asilah but seems it's very small for maybe just a 1-2 day trip
Thanks |
It really depends on what YOU want to see and experience. On the coast, you might look at Rabat (and Salé). If you are firmly committed to Chefchaouen (which I skipped after reading how tourist-y it has become), then Rabat and Fez or even Meknes might make sense.
BTW, the Moon guide to Morocco is excellent. |
I"m ok choosing another less touristy mountain town compared to Chefchaouen if you can suggest one. I'll check out the mood guide too

Sorry, but I don 't know the area around Chefchaouen.
In case it helps:

Temperatures along the coast will e around 80 degrees Fahrenheit whereas the hinterland (Meknes, Fes, Marrakech, Ouarzazate, Erfoud, etc.) will be a bit warmer (around 100 degrees).
All dependds on what you want to do and to see. |
