It's Booked!!!
Thanks to the good old Inland Revenue (IRS equivalent) who have just paid me a tax rebate, we've booked our preferred itinerary to Tanzania:
13th Oct Kenya Airways London-Nairobi-Kilimanjaro
Arrive 14th Oct early am
2 nights Kikoti
2 nights Ngorongoro Serena
4 nights Serengeti Serena
Fly Seronera to Arusha
Lunch & Shopping in Arusha before evening flight home on 22nd Oct.
We've booked with Roy Safaris thanks to all the recommendations here. They came in about $30pp more expensive than TSA but were much more helpful with suggestions and answers. So far they have been exceptional and Nancy is almost e-mailing replies before I've even hit the send button. We are sure they will continue to live up to expectations.
68 days and counting! 8-)

Congratulations, RuthieC!
Isn't 68 days just forever when you are waiting on a trip?

Like "pennies from heaven," except I'm sure it was much more than pennies. Sometimes the tax department can actually be a friend. So glad it has all worked out. All that's left is counting down the days which you've already started. Happy travels.

Roy Safaris will do an excellent job. We used them for our first trip, am using them again for our second trip (this coming October) and, yes, will use them again in the trip I am trying to plan for February 2005 - just a short jaunt to placate my insatiable appetite for the country. (Shhh ... don't tell my husband the plans are in the works already! Fortunately, he is not a Fodorite!) They are a family run business, in fact Nancy is the sister of the director of Roy Safaris, dedicated to the wildlife of Tanzania as well as the people of their homeland. Yes, yes, yes, a report upon your return is MANDATORY!

OK OK I promise you all a trip report
My husband is also drooling at the thought of all those wonderful photo opportunities with his (still fairly new) digital slr - we'll try and limit the number we upload to ofoto this time - last holiday was over the top with 170.
