Istanbul Hotel

I'm looking for a hotel in Istanbul in the $200-300 range. Thanks.

Is this for summer travel? If you're going in the off season, we stayed at the Four Seasons for about $220 night and temps were perfect in early Nov.

Travel in October.

I would highly recommend the Sultanahmet neighborhood especially if you are interested in seeing the Topkapi Palace and Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and another hotel to check out is Yesil Ev which was not too far from the FS and gets good reviews. Ramadan was on while we were visiting which made it even more interesting. I can also recommend a restaurant called Hamdi and it's quite well known in Istanbul-very reasonable and great pistachio kebabs!

Turkey is generally handled on the Europe board, where this question has come up a lot.

Gardyloo - I was going to say the same thing. I wonder why Fodors hasn't taken Turkey off the list of countries in A/ME drop-down menu.

Lots and lots of Istanbul hotel info on the Europe board.

There are a lot of hotels, hostels and rents in Istanbul for different prices, low prices also available, you can change for budget, or mid range and splurge. These sites might be of help to you: http://foxtrip.net/istanbul/hotel.php, http://www.lonelyplanet.com/worldgui...urkey/istanbul

Gpanda,

I've stayed at the Yesil Ev and found it quite comfortable. The rear garden is delightful.

I've also been all through the Four Seasons, including several of their rooms, and would definitely prefer to stay there if it was in my budget (it wasn't during my previous visit.)

The Empress Zoe was conveniently located in the Sultanahmet neighborhood, too, and seemed nice from a brief inquisitive visit.

Best of luck,
-doo

I really liked the Armada
http://www.armadahotel.com.tr/pg_en/It is actually quite a bit cheaper than your price range, I believe, so you might be looking for more of a luxury/business class hotel, but the Armada was clean and comfortable and plenty luxurious for me.

It's in a great location, just across the street from the Bosporus, but still within walking distance to many of the historic sites.
