Israeli tours and hotels

We would like to go to Israel in the Fall of 2008 or spring 2009 for 2 weeks (and an optional Petra visit). Has anyone taken any complete tours? Know anything about Isram or ASTA?
Anyone familiar with Dan Panorama hotels?

Isram has been doing these tours for 30+ years, very good reputation. They have programs at all budget levels depending on choice of hotels. As well as 3 or 5/day Jordan extensions including Petra. You can find them online, but if you have a real travel agent in your area, see if you can pick up one of their brochures. These will outline the itineraries and various hotel choices (believe in more details than might be online).

Gate 1, in Pennsylvania is another tour operator who does Israel and Jordan. They too, should have a brochure.

ASTA = American Society of Travel Agents? Is that who you mean? This is a professional association for Travel Agents who choose to join.

I took a Gate 1 tour of Isreal last year and I highly recommend it.
