Recommendations - Tour Operators- Southern Africa
Hello,

My husband and I are planning a trip to Zimbabwe and South Africa for mid-2000 - and we are looking for recommendations for a tour company. We plan on staying for about 3 or 4 weeks and have a moderate budget, whatever that means .

We are in the beginning stages of planning so are really flexible and would love to hear about anyones experience.

Thanks

My husband and I were in S.A. and Zimbabwe briefly, spending the most time in Botswana. That was in May. Please check out www.fisheaglesafaris.com. The owner of the company in Houston is wonderful to deal with. You can select what meets your budget. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me.

I live in Johannesburg and often read a magazines on touring in Africa. Try the following website of one of these magazines for quality info:www.getawaytoday.co.za

I can definately recommend Marc Harris at Africa Archipelago ([email protected]). He is particularly knowledable about game reserves. We booked our honeymoon to Zambia through him, and had NO complaints (and I am very picky). He has spent a lot of time in Africa and has first hand knowledge of almost everything and everyone.

If you prefer to make independant arrangements, the Portfolio guides of South Africa (www.portfoliocollection.co.za) ae an excellent source of accommodation - from B&B to luxury 5 star hotels and game lodges.

Rennies travel have offices throughout South Africa, and are very good at making domestic travel arrangements (I'm pretty sure that they are equally good at Zimbabwe). A girl named Mandy Thomas has often booked flights etc. for me, her e-mail address is [email protected]).

I hope that this is useful - if you have any othre questions, let me know. Have a great trip !
