TrendGirl - thanks for the insight to your perspective. In that case, Tel Aviv certainly is a place you should not miss with its vibrant nightlife and modern chic. It is the hippest city in Israel. The new (for me) Ceasarea complex is also a nice blend of history and archeology in a "with it" scene. Zichron Yaakov , just south of Haifa and one of the earliest Israeli settlements dating back to the 19th century, is a good example of a small town having a vibrant pedestrian area with good restaurants, craft and specialty shops together with an interesting museum of its compelling history. If visiting Zichron Yaakov, skip the tour of the Carmel Winery - it is not worth the time or cost.

In Tel Aviv, be sure to visit the Palmach Museum and the Rabin Center, which are next to each other.
The Bauhaus Center rents audio guides for a walking tour. Guy Sharret's graffiti tour was excellent. |
Abram: Thanks.......will definitely go to Palmach & Rabin center & good to know about audio guide at Bauhaus Center.
Thanks for info on Guy Sharret tour. Could be fun. TrendGirl2 |
