Israel Tour Companies

We are looking for a tour company that emphases Jewish Heritage. We like the itinerary of IAT Heritage Tours but would like references Anyone use them? We are open to other companies as well. We would like to include Petra also.
We are looking at October/November 2014 for a 14-15 day trip.

As IAT doesn't seem to list even 'sample itineraries' whether these are 'group' departures or 'private' designed to your specific interests, so difficult to compare to other companies - where visiting/sites, how many days at each, hotels used or available to choose, means of transport within Israel, let alone price.... and side-trip to Petra.

However, you might want to check:
Isram Tours - located in NYC
Gate 1 - located in/around Philadelphia

Also look at Margaret Morse. They usually get great reviews.
I do caution that when you compare tours make sure you are comparing apples to apples. Gate 1 ALWAYS appears to be less expensive but they have few few included tours and loads of optional tours ( that you probably want to take) Make sure you add everything up and compare the bottom line.

This looks interesting too:

Has anyone used Shalom Israel Tours? They seem to offer 1 and 3 day trips as well as the longer ones.

We attended a wedding last month in Jerusalem and we've booked a tour with Simply Israel, it's a small boutique travel agency, the service was very professional and personal, they also gave us a welcome package and helped us get around in the city etc.
the owner is also very cool
recommand you check them out - simply-israel.com
