Israel to Egypt

Has anyone gone directly to Egypt (Cairo) from Israel as an American? Have you experienced any issues? We would be flying on EL AL. Would appreciate any advice.

Haven't done this, but I don't think you'll have a problem as Egypt is pretty moderate. I know some countries (Syria, for example) won't allow you into their country if you have an Israeli stamp in your passport, but I think Egypt is okay with that.

There shouldn't be any problem flying from TLV to CAI via EL AL. There are scheduled flights by both EL AL and EgyptAir between the two countries. And Israelis travel to Egypt reguarly. There actually is a peace agreement between the two countries.

If flying EL AL for your transatlantic flight, you should be able to get a reduced rate for the Cairo leg and return (not sure how much off the regular fare).

EL AL doesn't have flights daily - I believe only 3-days a week, excluding the Sabbath (Fri/Sat), whereas EgyptAir picks up flights on the days EL AL doesn't fly.

EL AL might even have packaged deals for your stay in Cairo, so do check what they offer. You shouldn't encounter and issues with this visit.

Enjoy both countries - such a wealth of history.
