Israel Resort

After visiting family in Israel would like to spend three days at a relaxing resort in early April 2016. Upscale but not over the top would work for my wife and I. Have looked at Tiberius as we will be spending three days in Eliat (side trip to Petra). Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What does your family in Israel recommend ? What are you interested in - beach and suntan ? hiking and nature ? food and wine ? etc ? Are you with children ? Will you have a car ? Budget ? etc, etc, etc ...

We've stayed a couple of times at the Scots Hotel in Tiberias. It's not a resort per se (also since it's run by the Church of Scotland, not Kosher either) but it's lovely, historic, very comfortable, and the restaurant is top-flight. It's walkable from the Tiberias waterfront, has secure parking, and is a terrific base for exploring the land of milk and honey in the spring. (We have family at Kibbutz Degania Alef so it's also convenient for seeing them, too.) http://www.scotshotels.co.il/?langId=2
