Israel plus one??

We'll be traveling from Boston to Tel Aviv in early May. Plan to spend 10-12 days in Israel, but would like to combine with a 2-3 layover in either direction. Would love to visit Prague or even Amsterdam for a few days, but fares and connections not so good. Considering Greece or Croatia (Dubrovnik)-- but need to find something that is doable/practical in just a 2-3 day window. Suggestions? thanks

It used to be easy and cheap to stop in Europe on the way to and from Israel without it costing more than the regular US-TLV airfare. I haven't had much luck with that in recent years. It seems like the combined fare ends up costing so much more that I gave up on the "stopover" idea and do my Europe trips to/from the U.S You may still find something, but I haven't
There are often cheap packages (sometimes charters) to Greece or Turkey R/T from Israel if that makes sense for your plans
