Israel in February
I'm going to Israel in February for a short, work related trip. I'll have a little time in Jerusalem to sightsee. In addition to Yad Vashem, what are your suggestions? I was thinking of the City of David tour or the tunnel tour...also a possible shabbat trip to the dead sea area? Not sure about it at that time of year. And how to get there: private guide?

Hi debwhite,
There is a lot to see and do in Jerusalem: The Israel Museum, Mea shearim the ultra orthodox neiborhood, the Old City, the village of Ein Karem with its churches, the Mahane Yehuda open market, Nahalat Shiva section etc.
As for a trip to the Deae Sea and Mesada - you can join a tour either by United Tours

Or with Egged Tours

As for February. It can be rather cold and stormy (even some snow)in Jerusalem. On the other you can hit some nice weather, blue skies but still cold.
Hope this helps.
Have a nice trip!

Thanks, eri. I will check on whether we can get someone to take us to the Dead Sea on Shabbat. And we will take layers, but no boots!
