Is there any way that I can use my Amex points on EL AL airlines??

I am trying to figure out a way to use my american express points to get a ticket on El Al. Does anyone know if there are any other airlines that I can transfer my amex points to (as miles) and then have that airline book my ticket on el al? In 2008 I was able to transfer my american express points to air canada, who in turn booked my flight to bkk on thai air and I am wondering if I can do the same thing for a flight to Israel on El Al. I tried Swiss Air but they said that I can only use my miles on Swiss Air. Thanks!

Do you need to go on El AL exclusively?
I have a Delta AMEX card so maybe you can use your points on Delta...Delta flies directly to Tel Aviv.

At least one of these should work - I know you can transfer points to South Africa Air

Call El Al and ask them if they accept AMEX points (I'm pretty sure they do). Or better yet look on their website: www.elal.com I believe I saw somewhere that there is a special regarding points going on during March, but don't remember the exact details.

You can transfer Amex Membership Rewards points directly to El Al though it says the transfer can take up to 14 days so it's not an instant transfer like to Air Canada and some other programs.

You can't transfer points to South African Airways' frequent flyer program. You can only redeem for a travel certificate valid on South African Airways.

While El Al is a mileage accrual partner of Aeromexico, I'm unclear whether they're also an award redemption partner.

Thanks so much everyone! The person I originally spoke to at Amex gave me the wrong information. It turns out that amex is a partner with EL AL, so I can transfer points directly to them...
