Is there a South Africa trip report index thread?

Ive seen the East Africa trip report index thread and that is wonderful. Im wondering if there is something similar for S.A.? Ive done a few searches but havent been sucessful in finding just trip reports.

Not yet, would you like to volunteer for the task of putting one together? ;)

LyndaS, you'be been hired!;)

See what happens when you take initiative and do a good job.

Thanks Lynn for the vote of confidence! I would love to take up that challenge after I get back in June, unless someone volunteers before that. I will probably need to get my Africa fix somehow once I return!
I'm still in the midst of regrouping the East Africa index (and reading a few of the new reports that came in over the last few weeks) - won't take too long once I get into it, but as you can imagine from my 'day job' post - tax time is getting in the way!

LyndaS, I was truly kidding! But if it feeds your addiction, making an index is less expensive than sneaking in another trip!

Im happy to help as well (the posters on this board have been an invaluable resource, it seems like the least I can do) but how exactly do you find the trip reports? I was looking for Roccos very first trip report and I cant find it so I dont know if Im qualified to start the index.

StefR,

Here is how I search for info and it usually, but not always, results in success.

1. On this Forum in the search box above, type in a key word. You can also click on the country to the right of the search box.

2. Method #1 is not all that productive for me. So I do an Advanced Search in Google. You can put in numerous words or phrases that help select the thread. Then in the Advanced Search, in the box for Domain, type in Fodors.com. That way Google only searches Fodors.

Willingness = Qualified!

Where/when was Rocco's very first trip? I don't think I was around back then.

I found the following reports by typing "South Africa trip report" or "SA trip report" in the search box above -

Some of these are combined reports with Botswana or other southern Africa countries, so I don't know how much is actually about South Africa. I also didn't go back very far in the history of Fodordom so there should be more reports.

Patty, you are good! Wow, I am impressed!
Stefr-Sounds like a good idea to me! If you do want to do one, the best idea is to do it in Word and then copy and paste over to this board - that way you can change them if you want and repost the whole thread. That is what I am in the midst of doing at the moment - I'm putting in everyone's specific camps and lodges and also putting them in date order - when I have done that I will post the whole kit and caboodle to a new thread and ask everyone to go to the new one instead of the old one.
Lynn- that reminds me, did I MISS your reports??? I don't seem to recall reading one, can you point me to your latest?
Thanks!
Lynda
