Is Morocco safe?

We are supposed to go to Morocco in December and are wondering what the situation is like over there right now? Any thoughts/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I just came back from Ouarzazate, Morocco (Club Med) and it's a very beautiful place. Highly recommend it.
Don't know about the crowded cities, though.

Allison, I was there last January, so I can't comment on what the situation is like today. However, I found Morocco generally to be very safe and the people I encountered quite warm, friendly and even gentle (Now, they might be aggressive when tryingto sell you something, but it's all part of the game _ just be goodnatured and they will be too, for the most part!) Also, I think it is a fairly moderate country as far as Muslim countries go. For instance, you will hear the chants calling the people to prayer, but on the street at least, you won't see all that many people stopping to do their prayers. And although many women do wear veils or jellabahs (sp?) you will see many in the cities in Western dress.
It's a fascinating place, one of the favorites I have visited...
