Is Johannesburg worth spending a few days?

We are planning to spend 3 nights in Cape Town and 3 nights at a Luxury safari in Sabi Sands (maybe Londolozi or Singit). Our return flight will be from Cape Town. Is it worth diverting to Johannesburg for a few days to see this city? Otherwise we're flying on to Europe. What do you suggest..worth it or not? Thank you.

Johannesburg is okay, but you would be much better served spending any available extra time in Cape Town or in the Sabi Sand. Personally, I think 3 nights safari and 3 nights Cape Town is not enough if you have the time and budget to do more.

It really depends on what your interests are. Admittedly 3 days is very short for a first trip to CTN, but then JHB has very different sites on offer: Soweto, Apartheid Museum, Cullinan Diamond mine, Cradle of Humankind to name a few.

If you have local contacts, Jo'burg is great; if not, skip it and play in Europe.
