Is a quote of US$42 for driver to take 2 around Giza, Saqqara and Dahshur fair?

Hi, I've had a quote from Wagih Alfy in the above amount for driving me for a day around the pyramids above - he seems to come very well recommended, but is this price a good quote? And if not, can anyone recommend someone at a lower figure.

Arriving at midnight at the airport in Cairo, we have a scant two days in Cairo returning for one day the following weekend before leaving Egypt, so time is also of the essence: this is all over Easter.
I would appreciate any input.
Thanks

I guess it depends on what's included but in general, $42 for an entire day is cheap. I paid $80 a day + tip ($200 altogether) for 2 full days, transportation & guide for very specific locations I'd requested. I was more than satisfied. If he's providing just transportation, I think it's an ok price, if he's also a real guide I'd wonder why so cheap. I almost never bother with a guide but Cairo I found was a good place to have one. I'd also ask him about his car. I was picked up at the airport on arrival by a very nice man in a very not-nice car which I suspect isn't unusual. For a whole day you want to be comfortable.

For the convenience factor $42 is a fair price. Even if he is not a guide, and is just dropping you at the various tourist spots, it is still a lot easier than flagging a taxi and negotiating at every stop. I agree about the car...make sure it is comfortable as you will be spending a bit of time in it...traffic is a bear.
